CDC Text Classification Challenge

Every day, work-related injury records are generated and collected by the CDC. In order to alleviate the human effort expended with coding such records, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, wanted to improve their NLP/ML model to automatically read injury records and classify them according to the Occupational Injury and Illness Classification System. This 2019 challenge had 388 registrants competing for a combined prize purse of $25,000.
